While we know how to study this phenomenon in certain species, testing for personality in others is challenging. Here we focus on the lemon shark, Negaprion brevirostris, a species that has never been tested regarding that matter. We looked at one particular personality trait, neophilia. We conducted one experiment to find signs of personality in this key predator: the novel object experiment. Our aim was to determine whether this experiment is a good measure of the personality for this particular trait and it suggests that it is relevant for personality studies.
